At Surrey Sign Company, we love working with brands that have a clear “bold vision.” Recently, we had the pleasure of partnering with Tom, the owner of Kaya Studios, to deliver a comprehensive interior and exterior signage package.
Kaya Studios is all about creativity and professionalism, and they needed a physical presence that reflected those values. Here is how we transformed their space from the high street to the reception desk.
To catch the eye of passers-by from both directions, we designed and installed a bespoke Aluminium Swing Sign.
The Build: The sign features a durable, powder-coated aluminium face for a sleek, weather-resistant finish.
The Detail: We didn’t just print the logo; we used 5mm White Perspex lettering, precisely cut and bonded flat against the aluminium to create a subtle, high-quality layered effect.
The Finishing Touch: The sign is suspended from a decorative hanging frame, giving it a classic “Pictorial” look that fits perfectly with the local architecture.
A sign is only effective if people can see it! We equipped the swing sign with Pictorial LED lighting, but with a smart twist.
The Tech: We integrated a Photocell (dusk-to-dawn sensor). This means the sign automatically illuminates as soon as the sun goes down and switches off at sunrise.
The Result: Kaya Studios maintains a professional, glowing presence all night long without any manual effort or wasted energy.
For the main signage above the entrance, we wanted to create depth and authority.
The Material: We used chunky 10mm Black Perspex. The extra thickness gives the letters a heavy, premium feel that standard thin signs just can’t match.
The Installation: These were mounted directly to the brickwork using stand-off locators. This “floats” the letters off the wall, creating natural shadows that add a 3D architectural dimension to the storefront.
First impressions count, especially in a creative studio. In the reception area, Tom wanted the “Kaya Studios” name to be the focal point for arriving clients.
The Design: We used 5mm Black Perspex lettering.
The Mounting: Using rear-mounted locators, we raised the letters off the reception wall. This creates a clean, sophisticated look that plays with the interior lighting of the studio.
To tie the whole building together, Tom wanted the Kaya Studios logo featured on the internal walls.
The Design: For these pieces, we went for a “flush” look using 5mm Black Perspex mounted flat against the wall.
The Craftsmanship: To keep the finish seamless, we used colour-matched black screws. By drilling through and using matching fixings, the screws blend perfectly into the logo, providing a secure, industrial-chic aesthetic without distracting from the brand.
Working with Tom at Kaya Studios was a brilliant experience. By mixing different thicknesses of Perspex and using various mounting techniques (from floating locators to flat-fixings), we created a multi-layered brand experience that looks professional from every angle.
